This a kukri of the highest quality reproduced by EGKH and is in our view, undoubtedly a WW1 Officers Kukri.
Officers of that period had orderly's to make camp for them, or in the jungle bashas, as well as prepare food for them etc., and would have used their service Kukri for such tasks. This kukri would have been an excellent side arm for an officer on operations, and although capable of utility tasks, he wouldn't have needed to do them as his orderly did that for him.
The Kukri has a 35cm long blade with a single fuller (angkhola), a belly depth of 5.7cm and a rough weight guideline of approx 550-625 grams. The handle is Buffalo horn with a stick tang. It comes with a military scabbard and frogs with Tinder Pouch and 8.5cm Chakmak and Karda utility knives.
EGKH kukri are traditional handmade kukri, made in Nepal, and not the usual export and tourist kukri found on many other websites. EGKH strives to make kukri to the traditional specifications as per the original models.
We strongly recommend that the wooden parts on all kukri are treated with the appropriate oil and wood treatment prior to use.
Please note that because all of our kukri are hand-made, variances in size, weight, wood/horn color, chakmak & karda style etc may well occur.

Care instructions
Keep your blades healthy with proper regular cleaning after every use and the oil it with food safe mineral or coconut oil, it will prevent the coming on the blade which will keep your blade safe for life.
If you have seen rust accidentally then use WD40 to remove it .Never store your knife for long time in leather sheath. Leather can absorb water which will rust the knife. Always clean the blade after using and apply oil or wax (please use cooking oil on Chef Knife) before you store it, for its longer life and durability
The leather can be treated from time to time with a natural balm for leather products with bee wax.
Sharpening of the knife can be done with carborundum sanders or diamond sanders.
